 C# camp for beginners

Are you curious about programming but don't know where to start? Do you like meeting new people, enjoying nature and learning new things?  Then you've come to the right place!

Pink Programming is organizing C# course for beginners. We will return to the beautiful apple farm in Kivik for a five day intensive course in Web Development where, teacher-led lessons will be combined with hands on programming tasks - all to give us the best possible programming start.

For those who like to stretch their bodies and relax their minds to get ready for the tasks, we will offer yoga classes every day. You also have the opportunity to go running  along the coast or walking in the national park, 'Stenshuvud', between the sessions. During the evenings we will cook delicious vegetarian meals and eat together and have time to relax after all new and exciting knowledge.

You as a woman or transperson, are welcome regardless of age and background. The only requirements are that you are new to Web Development programming, want to learn and have access to your own computer.

C# is a very popular and loved programming language. It is great for building complex web applications and especially good for creating Windows desktop applications. Also, it is used in the most popular game engine - Unity for developing games and virtual reality. It is the crown jewel of Microsoft’s .NET framework and .NET developers are in high demand.

Bring your laptop (PC or Mac) and make sure to install the free version of Visual Studio (or Visual Studio for Mac) beforehand.

About the course:

We will start from scratch and give you a thorough walk-through of the C# programming language. The lessons will be interactive: you will write lots of code and get lots of help and feedback. Programming is a lot of fun and at times even addictive. We feel excited and passionate about introducing you to it!

Expected learning outcomes:

After the course the attendant should have got:

  • You will learn how to use Microsoft Visual Studio - a powerful development environment where we will write our code.
  • You will learn basic programming concepts that are present in all programming languages, such as variables and control structures.
  • You will learn how to use data structures such as arrays, lists, and dictionaries.
  • You will learn about object-oriented and functional programming.
  • You will be able to create simple interactive console applications.
  • You will also see how C# is used in developing Windows desktop applications and for web development.
